Rugby Tri nominated in the Rugby Sports Awards 2008 |

Rugby
Triathlon Club go from strength to strength in the
nomination for awards! We have been nominated for the
Rugby council Sports Club of the Year for
2008 and we are in a strong position to win! Our very
own 'senior' triathlete Mike Smallwood has also
been nominated for Senior Sports Personality of
the Year in the same awards. The awards take
place on the 4th March, so watch this space! |

07/02/2009 Honourary club member gains 1st place
in national 220 awards |
Hywel Davies,
double Ironman athlete and honourary club member
was rewarded for an awesome year of incredible
performances when he won the category of best
220 age group Triathlete. After a year of
results most of us can dream about, Hywel also
managed to support club triathletes in preparing
for Ironman distance, and managed to grace the
pages of 220 magazine, culminating in national
recognition for his efforts.

07/02/2009 Rugby Race Series gains 2nd place in
national 220 awards |

The
Rugby Sprint Triathlon came a close second in
the 220 Annual awards on the 7th February. After
intense competition, the race was shortlisted for
the 'best race of 2008 for entries below 550', with
our race finally gaining second place nationally. We
plan to improve both races even more for 2009, and
we'll be aiming for a first place this time. If you

Rugby Tri Club win Regional Club of the Year 2008 |

Rugby Triathlon Club have won the West Midlands
region CLUB OF THE YEAR for 2008. This is in
recognition for our efforts in developing and
promoting our youth and junior activities, our
general efforts made to support Triathlon in the
region and for the Rugby triathlon Race Series,
which has also been nominated for the 220 'best
2008 race for under 500 entrants. The West
Midlands regional committee have stated that
our event was excellent & deserved this
recognition. |
