20 Oct 2007 Rugby Triathlon Club ground breaking news. Following a sociable and painless AGM at the Black Swan, Rugby Triathlon Club now has a new Chair after Adrian Wyatt stepped down from the position. Our new Chair is Sue Wyatt, who is potentially the first female Chair of a Triathlon Club! Sue aims to maintain the warm and friendly culture of the Club, and to take the Club standard on even further. Some new faces have joined the club committee: Adrian James as Finance Officer with Pete Wright supporting; Andy Childs is now Membership Secretary; Emily Ducker joins as Club Secretary; Kenny Robinson as Club kit officer; John Bryant as Social Secretary. Full minutes of the AGM and details of the committee structure will be available shortly on the committee info link on the left. Huge thanks and a ‘Job Well Done’ to Adrian Wyatt, who has taken the Club to a new level over the last 18 months, Adrian will be creating the Newsletter on a Bi-Monthly basis, so we can look forward to Adrian’s news and views and own brand of humour once again.

6th Sep 2007 Annual club awards dinner. Book the weekend in the middle of November off! It's time again to celebrate the success of the club, watch 'ten mile stare' (aka 'the Camel') collect all the prizes, take the mick out of everyone and also eat good food, drink good drink and be generally merry. This year, we are having the evening on Friday 16th November to allow the whole weekend to recover. As before, it is being held at Dunchurch Park Hotel in Dunchurch and as usual there will be an extended bar, entertainment, club prizes and a raffle. Click here to download a booking form

New club sponsor. Rugby Tri now has a new Club sponsor called Pedaltech, run by Michael Matts from his new shop in Earl Shilton near Bosworth Water Park and Mallory. Sponsorship is primarily for our Junior section, but the adult side of the club will also benefit. Pedaltech is a brand new Triathlon and Cycle racing specialist store which has recently opened in Earl Shilton, in June 2007. It is Leicestershire’s ONLY specialist triathlon store. Pedaltech offers everything required for competing in road, time trial, track, cyclo cross and triathlon. Some of the brands being stocked are FELT, LOOK, MUSEEUW, BILLATO, DE ROSA, IRONMAN, and BIO-RACER, ORCA, MET, VITTORIA, NUUN and SRAM plus others. For more info go to www.pedaltech.co.uk
6th July 2007 Club relays and Club Champs. Are you in? Our yearly trip to Holme Pierrepoint to participate in the Manic Club Relays champs, camp out overnight, drink stubbies and burn food on the barbeque is almost upon us (11th August to be exact). The race is really a relay - you do your swim, have a rest, do your cycle, have a rest and then do your run. Even better is that the whole race can all be viewed from the stadium so it is a great spectator event as well. If you are not racing, please come along and support or even stop over - with loads of clubs there, it is a great social occasion as well. Don't forget that the Club Champs race is also close - the date is 22nd July. We need a photographer for the race - if you are interested, please talk to Garry.
2nd May 2007 Open Water Swimming - Bosworth Water. Freezing temperatures, duck poo and headspin is back! Open water swimming starts again at Bosworth water on the 5th May. For this year, swimming starts every Saturday morning at 7 am and goes on to 9 am. As always, the cafe will be open for carrot cake and bacon butties. As a reminder, car parking is £3 per car and swimming is £2. Please do not park outside the entrance because we are only swimming here on the good will of the owners. If you are new to open water swimming at Bosworth, see the posting on the discussion board for more information.

Lecture 2: YOUR FIRST RACE – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Lecture 3: TRICKS OF TRANSITION – HOW TO PLAN FOR A SMOOTH TRANSITION
Places need to be booked in advance and are limited to club members only. To find out more and book a place, click here. Lectures now completed.

Skinfit club kit ordering. Deadline for ordering new club kit for 2007 is TUESDAY, 20th MARCH 2007. If you did not make the Skinfit try on session, there is sizing information on the club kit order form (on the left of this page). We are ordering early this year to ensure that kit is available for the start of the season. If you are not yet sure about what you want, we will have limited stock of key items. However, we strongly urge you to order now to avoid disappointment. COMING SOON..... watch out on a Tuesday night for new club run T shirts and fleeces.
21st Jan 2007 Skinfit Club kit try-on evening 27th February. In preparation for a new order of Skinfit club kit, you are invited to a try-on evening of the range of Skinfit apparel and club kit on Tuesday 27th February at 6:30pm. The Skinfit team will be in the Rugby School sports centre cafe from 6:30pm to 9:30pm with a range of club kit to try on for size. Access to the calendar is from the home page, club news page or site search page. There will also be race reports for races as they come in - a link to submit your own reports is on the new page. You can submit your own important dates, find out about when races are happening and find out who is racing, as well as get the latest information on club events and activities. Click here to see the new calendar.
7th Jan 2007 Coming soon........To give you a taster of what is in store for this year, there is the (almost famous) Rugby Sprint Tri in August - we are aiming for bigger and better this year. But before that, we also have the Rugby Maiden Triathlon, a novice and sprint for Ladies only at the end of May - more soon. To keep you up to date with club activities, we will soon be launching an online calendar with local races, not-so-local races and the opportunity to let everyone else know you are racing. There will also be the return of the race report, to sway any indecisions about that potential race. Keep an eye on the newsletter and this page for more exciting stuff coming soon

More details can be found at www.justracinguk.com.

Sooty is organising a festive time trial on Thursday 28th December at the usual run session venue - 7:45pm outside Ken Marriott Leisure Centre. The route is being kept a secret (probably because Sooty hasn't worked one out yet), so if a social workout is what you need (or maybe you need an excuse to escape the in-laws), come and give it a go..

We need photographs! Fancy the chance to be immortalised on paper for the next year? Adrian is currently assembling the club calendar for next year, but is short on photographs. At the moment, the calendar might well be biased towards certain club members (we seem to have a number of photos of Mike McGillion for some reason!) so if you have a great shot of you or other club members in action, please email it to the club address (info@rugbytriathlon.co.uk) for the attention of Adrian.
