The Spring Chick race is a
ladies only sprint
(400m swim, 20k cycle, 5k run) or novice (200m, 20k, 2.5k) and the
2nd open race is sprint only. Registration, transition, the pool and the finish
at all races are all within a 200 metre radius of the start. Food, retail stalls
and entertainment are all on site. |

The cycle route is a
20km undulating single loop that takes in local villages and Rugby
itself. The route is marshalled by local police and lots of race
marshals. The run is one or two loops and is all
off-road on even grassy surfaces within the grounds of Bilton
Grange. |

"...I was
very impressed with the organisation from start to
finish, with particular praise to the following:
Enthusiastic race commentary;
Energy drinks on run and bananas at the finish;
Excellent goody bags and t-shirts; Large number of
extremely friendly and helpful marshals. Brilliant, will
definitely be back next year". (Tritalk) |

"With so
many ‘championship’ events, qualifiers, major commercial
races and the like on the calendar, it’s worth
remembering that the backbone of the sport is the club
structure. And the backbone of racing is club-run
events, often pool-based, like this one. If this event
is a reflection of that, we currently have a very
healthy sport". (Tri247) |

"Having
competed my first pool based tri at rugby yesterday I
wanted to say how much i enjoyed the event and
congratulate you on the efficient organisation and how
encouraging and friendly all the officials and marshals
were throughout the competition. I'll definitely be
back next year with more of my team mates. Thank you to
all involved" |
